This morning, I woke up, fed the cats, and washed a lot of dishes. Then I ate breakfast. Then, I sat down to WRITE: quite an accomplishment, considering my abilities to procrastinate and avoid my personal writing (see dishes, above). Here’s the space I’ve set up for myself to make writing more tempting/inviting/enjoyable…
My good friend Barbara recently turned me on to the Artist’s Way, which you can see open on the desk there; it’s kind of saved my creative life. Who knew I could actually have FUN being creative again?? Not me! Thanks, Barbara, and Artist’s Way.
While writing, I had a small epiphany: God loves artists. So, if that’s true… then God actually wants me to create stuff. God actually wants me to sit on the living room floor and rip up old National Geographics and make a glorious effing mess of a collage! And here’s the really awesome part: God wants me to make a mess.
That kind of blows my mind. I can’t wait to try it.
After I had that epiphany, Erin came in and gave me a present:
It’s delightful. See?
Here’s to the wild creative life!
